Old saber galleries
Welcome to Cheapsabers, your source for affordable costuming and fan film props. Most of this site will be a gallery of sabers I have made in the past, but there will be links to custom sabers currently being made and sold.

Old metal sabers
These were my first attempts at making metal sabers. This was before I had any power tools, all I had was metal and PVC parts, spraypaint, foam rubber, and epoxy to stick them all together.

Metal saber type 1
What can I say about this one? I still have it (although I need to re-epoxy the endcap back on), it was my most expensive, and least functional metal saber ever. But most importantly... it was the first lightsaber I ever made.
I was proud of this beaut when I made it. Even if it couldn't hold a blade.
Unfortunately, as with all things, it can no longer be made, as the emitter that I used for it is no longer sold in my local hardware stores. There is a similar one that I could probably try to replace it with... but it just wouldn't be the same.

Metal saber type 2
And then there's this one, my second saber every... my double sided metal saber. This one was real nice too. A pain to ship, since it couldn't fit into a regular USPS Priority Mail box. But it was real pretty, and blades could be added.
Now that I have power tools, and a better understanding of how to make sabers, I could definately improve this design. But for my second saber ever, it ain't half bad.

Metal saber type 3
This saber was one of my favorates. This one and type 4 were the two that I sold the most of too, so it's obvious that it wasn't just my favorate.

Metal saber type 4
This one was similar in design to the type 3, just a different emitter tip. And a few bucks cheaper too, since the emitter that the type 1,3 and 5 used was more expensive than a plain metal tube with a PVC coupling as the emitter.

Metal saber type 5
I had an idea to make a nice comfy non-rubber/plastic grip for a saber... and what better to do that with then suede?

Metal saber type 6
And last but not least... well, maybe the littlest... is the type 6 saber. Made either for children, or to use in a short one handed blade style, this one was cheap and easy to make, and I sold a few of them. Not that many, since I came up with it shortly before I went out of business, but I think I made a few kids happy.
